1- Speaking with an Australian guy recently, he told me his sister (in her early 20s) got an Operating Fifo role he could only dream of despite her lack of qualifications, making six figures just because they want more women there.
These same women will then consider it a given and assume guys are not working hard enough to get ahead in life when, in a barely growing debt-fuelled economy, the jobs young men would usually get training for are being handed to women.
2- This reminded me of a friend of mine who was unemployed for months before finally landing a job when he had more than 5 years of solid finance experience (brand-name institutions with core in-demand skills). In the process, he was fighting to get interviews when his girlfriend (who was in the same industry with less experience) was spammed by recruiters.
On one occasion, an MD from a Top Institution bent over backwards to make himself available to interview her. I have heard little of this unless one is an established reference in his field, something a late 20-year-old isn’t.
3- Another example is when I started my finance career. A girl who had some BS degree, no experience, two months as a contractor in Compliance, and no knowledge of the industry was shipped off to Switzerland to go on a fast-track route to becoming a Private Banker.
She told my friend that the interviewer asked that same girl if she was single and wondered if that was appropriate.
4- I was dating a PA to one of the guys just below the C-Level guys in a bulge bracket Investment Bank, who was telling me how her boss had to promote barely qualified females because they needed more skirts higher up, to which he complained about as it was creating unnecessary dissensions in the team.
5- When I was an external recruiter, there were explicit mandates to hire women only for very well-paid positions within Investment Banks.
When young men are not being undermined, they have their opportunities stolen, and people wonder why the gender divide is growing. Additionally, they have to listen to the patronising, conceited broads whose only position in life is explained by their lack of understanding of the world around them.
And you wonder why Gen Z has had enough.
