The divide and conquer narrative: The power that be will magnify the smallest differences between individuals. Because of that difference, they will say the other side hates you and will do everything possible to maintain that difference.
Whether it is race, gender or sexual orientation, you can clearly see the dynamic: Reparations, Gender Pay Gap, Fear for one's safety.
At its core, this narrative is based on a Marxist construct. It promotes the idea that you can't succeed on your own merit and that the 'other side must give you what you deserve. This narrative positions itself as the protector against this perceived unfairness.
It is based on suspicions, envy, and paranoia. But they will brand it as compassion for the "weaker" link—very condescending in essence.
They first demoralise the target audience. They will put them in their ideological plantation. They don't want you to go out there and prove yourself. They will claim they will protect you from the evil world out there to better anchor their control over you.
They will use metaphorical scarecrows to create fear and Uncle Toms to solidify trust in their narrative. The messengers with the same identity as the target audience are the shepherds who usher them in the right direction. The benevolent master, above it all, who does not name himself as such has their best interest at heart.
The feeble-minded and those looking for an authority figure, as they have no agency of their own, will be grateful for such a leader.
It is low-voltage racism, sexism, homophobism... It is rooted in the idea that these categories of people don't know what is best for them, but they do as we are more intelligent. Going with the victim mentality and expecting a handout from the "benevolent master" only confirms the frame set-up for their target audience.
The higher mark of respect for someone is treating them as equally as others, not giving helping hands because there is this patronising undertone of "if we don't do that for you, you can't make it on your own".
The reason why the Democratic Party fairs so well with women is because they play to their victim narrative, their annoyances of minor differences rather than the similarities between people, their demanding characters, and their underlying insecurity.
Identity Politics has been the smokescreen to better hide the real war at play, which is class warfare, where the proportion of a single unit of wealth is increasingly being monopolised by the haves at the expense of the haves not. This is even more the case when the pie is barely growing, if anything at all. The narrative that the tide lifts all boats (trickle-down economics) does not operate as much when the interest on the debt carries a much bigger weight (to the benefit of the haves) on the available growth being redistributed through the natural process of the free market economy.
It is thus easier for people to select another enemy than the one pulling the strings.
Politics is gendered thanks to the work of feminism over the past decades.
People need to realise they are more interested in finding similarities and unifying themselves than entertaining discord that benefits other people.
Through communities, marriage, and other forms of association, people have a better shield to face life's curve balls. However, there is a top-down effort to make people more atomised and dependent on the State. Institutions such as the Church and Marriage have been corrupted through politics and the laws at play with financial incentives, which makes it hard to get out of.
As an individual, it is about making yourself useful so that you can be self-reliant as much as possible and associate with like-minded individuals to create an infrastructure that will help you and others to live in a serene environment.
