This article aims to help men understand that in today’s low-attention-span economy, people will judge a book by its cover quicker than ever. Your personal brand is key in your professional life, and so is your personal one.
When you need a good CV to pass the original screen, having a personal brand can establish you interviewing the companies who want to employ you. It is the same thing when it comes to dating, where a very well-curated social media profile will go a long way to making you attractive and increasing your options.
Now that we have discussed the importance of your image, it is crucial to understand the principle of archetypes. People will segment you based on the signals you showcase, and their behaviour will change accordingly. For example, someone in a tailored Tom Ford suit will be treated differently than the guy in a Nike Tracksuit.
When dating, women will have a type more often than not, and that guy will get preferential treatment because they feel a benefit to be associated with him. Therefore, she will show enthusiasm and be more compliant to his suggestions. When you don’t fit any boxes, it is harder for people to assess you. She will disqualify more often than qualify, so it is essential if you are looking to be pragmatic to establish yourself as part of one of the below archetypes. It is key also to appreciate that you don’t need much game once you fit “her type”; she will do most of the work because she is already bought in the image you display; that is how strong the power of your front-line display is.
For today, I will focus on these examples. Tomorrow, I will go deeper with the Niches.
1) The Effiminate Pretty Boy=> Very Slim / Fine Facial Traits & will carry more hair than your usual guy => Timothée Chalamet
2) The Conventionally Good-Looking Guy => This is the man you can tell, even as a guy, will attract most girls => He may lack some edge or quirks because he appeals to the masses yet is still very successful => Half-way between the pretty boy and the HMM => Chris Pine
3) The Hyper-Masculine Man (HMM) => He will veer towards the Gym Bro / Fighter / Military (MMA / Boxing) with a muscular body - big physique, and a more manly/weathered face => Jason Statham
Knowing which segment best represents your lifestyle, facial features, and body composition is also essential. It is not about changing yourself; it is about understanding where you are in society and making it clear to others so that it signals your status and helps you curate your environment.
My upcoming nichemaxxxing post will be focused on your attire.
Why should you care about the above?
Girls (and people more generally) make quick judgements on people based on how they display themselves; they are mental shortcuts, also known as heuristics. Don’t listen to them saying they don’t put people in a box or the usual “I don’t have a type”. At best, it is their lack of self-awareness; at worst, they are not trying to give you any clue. They will tend to lean towards one of these types.
My experience in terms of the popularity of these three archetypes by age range is the following:
When they are in their early 20s => they are likelier to go for the Effeminate type.
In their late 20s and 30s, they lean more towards the Hypermasculine type.
The Conventionally Good-Looking Guy will be as successful with women in their 20s and 30s; however, because they appeal to the most, oftentimes they will like that edge that polarises them, which can make a woman fall deep and hard because of a specific feature, even though the man may not be necessarily that good looking.
Ignoring the above can result in being discarded straight off the jump. Leveraging this will polarise you and make it much easier to retrieve the bait when a fish catches it. So, investing time in your personal marketing strategy will have a positive ROI in time spent.
