I was chatting with 007 @generationmss on X
And he was telling me about the contrast of his two dates.
DATE #1
Girl: 22yo
From: Texas
Peculiarity: No Tattoos
Encounter: Hinge
Time between first contact and date: 1 week
The interaction was smooth and straightforward. As he knew he would not have time to see her soon, he shared his IG to keep her attention. 007's IG shows a lot of social proof and is very well curated. They kept on chatting on there and eventually met at his usual bar.
Cost of the overall date: $30.
The key moment was when the date turned in his favour.
He did something which I would call a future pacing push-pull.
At the same time, he projected the girl with him in the future, for her to eventually imagine herself with him in a couple framework, whilst not giving her the full validation.
The issue with future pacing is that it can show too much intent, and she thinks she has won you over, before having actually invested, whilst you showed your investment (think showing your cards first after the flop in Poker).
If she buys into you, it will escalate things quicker. That is the upside.
How did that translate on the date:
007: "When you meet my parents, they would definitely say to me, 007, the chemistry between the two of you must be quite the thing, as [name of the girl] is not your usual type."
Another thing, using a third party, even though it is coming from you, saying it in that context, implies a stronger validity to your statement, because people are more likely to believe things being said about you from others as more valid than yourself, as there is always the conflict of interest arising from your possible hidden agenda.
You may think it makes no sense, as it is the protagonist saying it, but never underestimate what a girl will believe if she likes you. From this moment on, she started to qualify and chase his validation.
On another note, when you say to a girl she is not your usual type, it means that she is something more than a kink, yet it also conveys that she has to work harder, because you are not sold on her already.
"Oh, am I not your type?"
